This One Simple Mistake Is Killing Your Business

Let’s say you’ve been running ads for the past few weeks, and everything is going great. Sales are up, customers are happy, and you feel like you’ve cracked the code to success.

BUT what if I tell you that you are doing something that may potentially kill your business?

Something so subtle you might not even realize you're making it. Well, in this article I will tell you exactly what this mistake could be and how you can fix it to survive.

The Worst Business Mistake

Imagine this: you are running ads for a real estate business, and you are killing it with those ads. You are spending $1000 a day on Meta ads, and you are making $5000 back in sales.

That’s a 5X return; for every dollar you spend, you are making five back.

But then, one day, you wake up, and your account is banned. You don’t know why or how, so you message Meta to find out what happened. And in the meantime, you have zero leads coming in. ZERO!

Why?

Because you got dependent on ONE source of leads. And that’s the dumbest possible thing you can ever do.

The Trap of the “ONE”

Let’s say you live in a luxury mansion. And this mansion has everything you’ve ever dreamt of. However….

It is built on ONE single pillar. Now what do you think will happen when this pillar falls? The answer is obvious: the house will collapse.

And the same thing happens in your business without you even realizing it.

You depend on ONE source. And “One” is the worst number in business.

One Key staff Member

One Source of Leads

One Big Client

And what happens when that “ONE” is taken away? You’re dead in the water.

Illusion of Safety

Here’s the dangerous part: the “one” doesn’t feel like a risk while it’s working. You convince yourself that as long as that one source keeps delivering, everything will be fine.

But business isn’t about comfort—it’s about adaptability. And if you’re relying on that one thing to sustain your success, you’re skating on thin ice.

Remember the good old Vine days?

What do you think happened to those businesses that relied only on Vine as their primary source of traffic?

Well, one day they were thriving; the next day their business was all over the floor. And they’re trying to pick up the pieces after their entire source of traffic dried up overnight.

Diversify Or Die

You should make it an objective in your business to find out all the ONE’s. Because every “ONE” is a possible attack vector. Ticking time bombs, waiting to explode.

And trust me, the last thing you want is a surprise explosion.

And it becomes even riskier when you try and convince yourself, “Oh, but this one is different.”

Now, when it comes to marketing, this means we don’t get too comfortable. We’re always looking to get an ad to work... and then we branch it out across many different platforms.

Sure, if Meta ads are crushing it, that’s great. But we’re not stopping there.

Let’s look at Youtube.

And Google.

And offline.

And direct mail.

And cold email.

And autoresponder marketing.

And affiliate marketing.

And referral marketing.

And anything else we can think of.

This is the only possible way to survive those ticking bombs and make your business “Hard to Kill.”
